Protective gear born from a dad's worst moment — and best idea

One pitch to my 10-year-old son’s back changed everything.

In one of his first player-pitch baseball games, he took a fastball square on his shoulder blade. He was scared, we were shaken, and like most parents sitting in the stands, we realized how unprotected kids really are from wild pitches and hard contact.

I started looking for a base layer shirt that would actually protect him from the spots that get hit the most. Most options were either too bulky, too hot, or simply not built for real kids who dive, slide, and play hard. So we began adding impact padding to the areas that needed it most and testing it on the field.
